Ocean Tramp Christmas Eve

Blog Christmas Eve!
Christmas Eve in the Antarctic. Day three of our grand adventure – the days and the waters have now calmed. Settling into our long anticipated voyage, we are finally surrounded by the towers of snow and granite and inky blue waters. Yesterday’s tramp on the Ice was followed by kayaking; navigating though ice sculptures that put Picasso to shame.
Today we bid a thank you to the campaign of humpback whales that welcomed us to the Antarctic. Weaving around and under the Ocean Tramp. Holding our breath, eyes wide with awe while they dove and emerged with grace and authority. And that was only the morning. Later with our bellies full (many thanks to Janey and Mack) we were introduced to the Gentoo penguins. As they waddle up the penguin highway, to and fro, our smiles and cameras flashed. If today were our last day we could not be more satisfied. The fact that we have many more ahead is the best Christmas package for us to continue to unwrap on our days ahead. So fortunate for us, a pod of strangers that are fast becoming friends, we fit together so very well. Laughter served as a starter at the Christmas Eve table. After, visions of ice bergs, humpbacks, and penguins dance in our heads we settle in our beds for the night. Awaiting Santa…

To be continues…

I just felt like I was reading a fairy tale, so very enchanting and moving… I could picture everything with my eyes and heart wide open to see and feel everything, This is a real dream come true for the ones who live this adventure, but this is also mine as I’ve always made this dream, I’m so in love with Antarctica, the ice sculptures, the ink blue waters, all this pristine beauty and the most wonderful creatures of the world… humpback whales dancing all around, so close, so friendly…. yet so powerful and peaceful, and all the lovely penguins, so sweet. Oh God, what a Christmas ! Thank you so very much for sharing this dream. You should make a book. Your writing is so beautiful. What a gift to be there in Antarctica with you, This is the most beautiful place in the world 🙏🏼✨
