For all Passengers traveling to Antarctica we require that you have insurance coverage for medical and emergency evacution of at LEAST $300,000USD.
We also highly reccomend travel insurance to protect your investment in this trip.
Insurance options are different for each country of residence, each passenger must find what is right for them. Below are some options – we do not reccomend one over the other and there are many other options other than what is below:
IMG
This option is available to anyone with a residence in the USA. IMG can offer both travel insurance and evacuation insurance. In general, the SE plan works best for many of our passengers. When booking with IMG, please keep the following in mind:
- Please remember you have a 10-day waiting period to cancel a policy in case of any changes. If you need to make simple changes to a policy, you can contact 866-347-6673. After the 10 days windows a policy cannot be cancelled.
- Pre-existing medical coverage is available on the SE plan if purchased within 20 days of the date that your initial trip payment is received, and if you are not disabled from travel when your plan cost is paid. It is available on LX plan if you purchase your plan at or before the final payment for your trip.
World Nomads
World Nomads covers a broader range of nationalities. Note that the emergency evacuation insurance covers what is required, however, the travel insurance itself is less extensive than other options and does not cover the full cost of a Quixote Expeditions trip.
